Injured during Champions League Final, Bayern Munich Were Threatened Starting the Season without Boateng

DBasia.news – Bayern Munich seems threatened to lose their flagship defender, Jerome Boateng at the start of the Bundesliga season. Boateng suffered an injury during his appearance against Paris Saint Germain in the 2019-2020 Champions League Final, Monday (24/8).

The 31-year-old footballer was forced to be replaced in the 25th minute of the Champions League final. Previously in the semifinal against Lyon, Boateng also suffered a thigh muscle injury, but after that he was declared cured by the doctor.

Quoted from AFP on Wednesday, the German national athlete will then undergo a rehabilitation program prepared by the club during his vacation. However it is not known how long he will be out of action.

Boateng rediscovered his best form under the tutelage of Hansi Flick and his team-mates at the heart of the club’s defense David Alaba. Both of them strengthened Munich to win the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League titles in seven years.

Meanwhile, Munich will start the 2020-2021 season with an opening match against fifth division club Duren in the first round of the German Cup which will take place on 11 September 2020. A week later, Munich will host Schalke at the opening of the Bundesliga.
