DBasia.news – Former Crystal Palace owner, Simon Jordan has commented on the issue of Sadio Mane’s departure. According to him, the Reds are better off selling Roberto Firmino than Mane.
Sadio Mane is widely rumored to wanting to leave Liverpool. The Senegalese striker received an offer to join Bayern Munich.
So far, Liverpool are still trying to keep Mane. However, if Bayern’s offer is increased as desired, the Reds will move forward.
According to Simon Jordan, Liverpool need to do various ways so that Mane extends his contract which will expire next year. In fact, if it’s by fulfilling the former Southampton player’s salary request.
“I can’t understand if it’s because of the players’ salary demands. Some people say it’s because of the players’ salaries, but on the other hand there are those who say it’s because Mane has reached the deadline with Liverpool. Mane wants something different,” Jordan explained as reported by talkSPORT .
“Liverpool can’t know where Mane will be attracted. However, I don’t want Mane to leave. I don’t want to destroy the dynamic that they already have up front.”
Simon Jordan felt that if he had to sell a striker, it would be Roberto Firmino. Lately, the appearance of the Brazilian striker has indeed declined.
“If you have to let go of players, it’s Firmino. I know he’s part of the Liverpool integration if he plays because he’s a creative and intelligent player. However, if you let go of one of them, it’s Firmino. It’s because of his age and to what extent the game can be played,” said Jordan.
“They have a new player, Diaz. So with that in mind Liverpool really don’t want to lose Mane.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool looks to have started preparing to lose Sadio Mane. The Reds have reportedly reached an agreement with Benfica to sign Darwin Nunez.
