Inter Milan Aims Against the Son of a Juventus Legend to Replace Lautaro Martinez

Inter Milan already has a total of five strikers in the first team at the moment namely Lautaro Martinez, Joaquin Correa, Edin Dzeko, Alexis Sanchez and striker who was recruited last January, Felipe Caicedo.

The last name was brought in on loan from Genoa and is temporary, because Inter anticipates if one of the four attackers is injured.

No doubt Il Beneamata are still eyeing attackers to try to bring in the summer transfer window of 2022. One name that is now an old target for Inter, according to Calciomercato, is Marcus Thuram.

Marcus is the son of French football legend, Lilian Thuram, who currently plays for Borussia Monchengladbach. Different from his father who used to play as a formidable central defender, Marcus plays as a striker.

Last summer Inter made an offer of 20 million euros plus an additional five million for Gladbach, for the 24-year-old – close to his buy-out clause of 30 million euros.

However, Thuram’s injury to his right knee kept him out for about two months until the transfer failed. Now Inter are rekindling their interest in Thuram, who is currently predicted to drop in price at around 25 million euros.

The decline in performance with Gladbach was allegedly the reason for the decline in the player’s price. This season Thuram has made 18 appearances in all competitions (656 minutes played in total), but he has only scored one goal.

Thuram has been with Gladbach since 2019 after previously playing for Souchaux II, then playing for the Souchaux first team, and in 2017-2019 playing for Guingamp. Thuram also has four caps with the French national team.

Besides being a striker, Thuram can also play as an attacking midfielder. According to WhoScored, Thuram has strength in aerial duels and dribbling with a weakness for crosses and reading the opponent’s defensive line.
