Inter Milan confirm news of new coach, Simone Inzaghi

DBasia.news – The question regarding Antonio Conte’s replacement has been answered at Inter Milan. As previously predicted he is also from Italy and previously coached Lazio, namely Simone Inzaghi. The news was confirmed on Inter’s official website.

“FC Internazionale Milano would like to welcome Simone Inzaghi to the Club, as our new First Team Coach: the Italian manager has signed a two-year contract with the Nerazzurri. #WelcomeSimone,” read Inter’s statement.

“Officially, confirmed. Simone Inzaghi has signed a contract as Inter coach until June 2023. He contacted Romelu Lukaku three days ago to keep him a key part of Inter’s project,” added Fabrizio Romano.

Inter became the second professional club coached by Flippo Inzaghi after Lazio. In the period 2016-2021 Inzaghi made Lazio a dark horse team for the Champions League zone competition.

There, with a ‘medium’ squad, Lazio brought Inzaghi to win one Coppa Italia and two Italian Super Cups. Inzaghi’s task will not be easy as Il Nerazzurri are the defending Serie A champions.

As is known Conte and Inter ‘divorced’ after the 2020-2021 season after Inter won the Scudetto. Differences of opinions were the cause. Conte wants to strengthen the foundation he made, while management wants to sell players for 80 million euros to increase the club’s finances in the midst of the corona virus pandemic.

Lukaku, who was an important part of Inter winning the Serie A title, was successfully defended by Inzaghi. The Belgian striker who will play in Euro 2020 has made his commitment to stay clear.

“I stayed at Inter. I already had contact with the new manager, Inzaghi. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that just yet, but it was a very positive conversation. I feel good at Inter,” Lukaku added to VTM.
