Inter Milan is ready to extend Nicolo Barella’s contract

DBasia.news – Inter Milan is reportedly one step away from extending Nicolo Barella’s contract. Thus, the chances of the interested teams for the Italian national team midfielder will be even greater.

Inter Milan brought Nicolo Barella from Cagliari in the 2019 summer transfer market. At that time, Barella arrived on loan first. Satisfied with the midfielder’s performance, Inter took a permanent path.

Until now, Barella continues to be the main choice in Inter Milan’s midfield. The 24-year-old player is known to be good at building attacks and has high mobility.

Not surprisingly, Inter Milan wants to extend Barella’s contract. Although, currently Barella’s term of service still remains until June 2024.

According to transfer market experts, Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan and Barella are in the final stages of new contract negotiations. The two sides agreed to join hands for the next five years.

In addition to the duration of the new contract, Barella will also receive a salary increase. Rumors are circulating that Inter are preparing Barella as captain in the future.

“We are very close to reaching an agreement with Barella,” said Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta.

Romano also denied reports that Liverpool were targetin Barella in the last few transfer windows. In fact, according to Romano, the Reds have never communicated with Barella.

Now, Inter’s next focus is to extend against Marcelo Brozovic. Epic Brozo will be on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.
