DBasia.news – Former Lazio captain, Paolo Di Canio stated that Inter Milan’s spirit was at its worst, which caused them to recently reap a series of negative results.
Most recently, the Nerazzurri were helpless while playing for their fans against AS Roma, where the match ended in a 2-1 win for the capital club.
In fact, Inter had taken the lead through Federico Dimarco’s goal when the match was half an hour in. However, the hosts’ excitement did not last long as Paulo Dybala pulled one back before Chris Smalling scored the winner 15 minutes from time.
This is Inter’s second straight defeat and they are now increasingly scattered in the middle board, ninth position in the Italian Serie A standings.
Di Canio saw that there was no more unity among the Inter players, all that remained is that they were just trying to save their respective careers and maintain their image in front of the fans.
“They’re aimless. Negative!” said Di Canio after Inter’s 2-1 loss to Roma.
“There is no empathy, the players don’t like each other, it looks like an individual [game]. They think about saving each other’s performances, each other’s image,” Di Canio said.
Di Canio hopes Inter can return to their path as a champion team. If their performance continues like this, Simone Inzaghi’s team could end the season in a pathetic position.
“Values are important. Inter cannot swallow four defeats like this. They all have to get out of this situation together,” added Di Canio.
From eight Serie A matches so far, Inter have won 4 and lost 4. Next, Inter will serve Barcelona at the San Siro in the continued Champions League group phase.
