Inter Milan Ties Milan Skriniar until 2023

Milan Skriniar

DBasia.news –  Milan Skriniar signed a new contract with Inter Milan after firing an agent who wanted to sell him. The 24-year-old Slovak pass defender affirms his commitment to Inter.

As reported by the official Inter page, Skriniar signed a new four-year contract that will hold him at Inter until 2023. That means, one game for Manchester United’s summer transfer has been lost from their players’ transfer list.

“I am happy and proud to be able to wear this jersey for the next three years. I fired my agent and negotiated with the club personally,” Skriniar told Sky Sport Italia.

“I developed very quickly at Inter. I performed well in my first few games for them and the coach (Luciano Spalletti) quickly gave me confidence,” continued the former Sampdoria defender.

Skriniar, along with Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli) and Nikola Milenkovic (Fiorentina), are Man United’s transfer targets to fix their fragility on the back line. The new contract shows Skriniar’s commitment with Inter.

The Zilina academy product was brought in by Inter from Sampdoria in 2017 for 20 million euros and involved Gianluca Caprari, the Italian striker who moved to Sampdoria. Two years of grooming Inter, Skriniar grew rapidly.

Reflections on Modern Central Defender

Judging by Whoscored notes, with 33 appearances in Serie A, Skriniar recorded a successful operand average of 92.5 percent. Note that it has exceeded other players in the 2018-19 Serie A season.

Keep in mind, Skriniar is not a midfielder or attacking midfielder, but a central defender – who can also play as a central midfielder. Skriniar does have a reputation as a modern center-back.

Hacving the ball-playing defender type, Skriniar has the main task of securing Inter’s back line, however, he can also build attacks from behind by passing short balls and hull ball forward.

Skriniar won 221 ball fight duels and was ranked third in the defender who won the ball the most in Serie A. When Inter were reinforced by Skriniar, the club recorded 15 clean sheets.

Skriniar will be the door of Inter’s defense which will get a test from Napoli at San Paolo, Week 37 of Serie A, Monday (5/20) WIB. Inter are still trying to secure a place in the Champions League zone.
