Irfan Jaya: I Want to Support Persebaya Before the National Team

Irfan Jay

DBasia.news – Persebaya Surabaya winger Irfan Jaya becomes one of the 22 players called to support Indonesia national team in the friendly matches against Myanmar on Wednesday (10/10) and Hong Kong on Tuesday (16/10).

Irfan Jaya can’t hide his excitement for the trust to support Indonesia national team. “I’m happy to return and trusted to support the national team,” Irfan said after the friendly match between Persebaya against PS Kopa at Polda Jatim Field, Saturday (29/9).

However, the call-up for Irfan also left another dilemma. Not only for Irfan. but also for Persebaya. Apparently, the power of the player from Bantaeng, Sotun Sulawesi, is really needed by Bajul Ijo, especially in the match against the rival, Arema FC.

Previously, the match against Arema FC will be conducted on Sunday (30/9). But due to the league termination, it remains unclear when the match will be conducted. Certainly, it made Irfan and Persebaya worried. Especially if the match is conducted after Irfan leaves to the national team, October 6.

“It’s unfortunate. I actually want to play for Persebaya and then join the national team. I hope the schedule will be conducted before I leave to the national team,” said the best player of Liga 2 in 2017.

The same thing revealed by Persebaya coach, Djadjang Nurdjaman. He thinks, conducting the East Java derby without Irfan would be a great loss for the team. Hence, he wants the match to be conducted as soon as possible.

“The call-up of Irfan is a dilemma. We need him, but on the other hand, the national team needs him. Hopefully, the match will be conducted next week,” Djanur said.
