DBasia.news – The Italian and Spanish national team won different results in the continuing 2020 European Cup Group Qualification match which took place Sunday (13/10) AM.
Italy under the care of Roberto Mancini hosted Greece at the Stadio Olimpico. GLI Azzurri dominated the absolute match with 72 ball control compared to 28 percent of Greece. Their kick attempts reached 20 times (four on target) versus eight kicks (only one on target).
The host won with a score of 2-0 through goals scored by Jorginho (63 ‘penalty) and Federico Bernardeschi (78’). Thanks to this victory, Italy are firmly at the top of Group J standings with perfect points, 21 points, from seven matches that have taken place.
That is, Italy has wiped out seven matches with a win (without a draw and loss). They are nine points adrift of Finland in the order of two standings followed by Armenia (10 points), Bosnia Herzegovina (10 points), Greece (five points), and Liechstenstein (two points).
“This match is really emotional and exciting, we thank the fans for their great support,” Bernardeschi told Rai Sport after the match ended.
In the next match, Italy will visit the headquarters of Liechtenstein, Rheinpark Stadion, Wednesday (10/16) 1:45 AM.
A different fate has been experienced by Spain. La Furia Roja failed to maintain a smooth record like Italy when held 1-1 by Norway at the Ullevaal Stadion. Spain were unable to maintain the advantage to end the match with three points.
Spain won 1-0 via Saul Niguez’s goal in minute 47. However, the determination of Norway’s play resulted in 90 + 4 minutes. The host received a penalty and Joshua King did not waste the opportunity and forced the match to end in a 1-1 draw.
Nevertheless, Spain remain at the top of Group F with 19 points, followed by Sweden (14 points), Romania (13 points), Norway (10 points), Malta (three points), and Faroe Islands (without points).
In the next match, Spain will play Sweden at the Friends Arena on Wednesday (10/16) 1:45 AM.
