Jamal Musiala now Strengthens the German National Team after previously refusing

DBasia.news – Bayern Munich’s young star, Jamal Musiala, has decided to strengthen the German national team rather than England at senior level. However, an interesting fact behind this decision has just emerged.

Musiala began to steal the attention after being able to put his name on the scoreboard when Munich defeated Schalke 04 with a score of 8-0, last September. The goal made him break the record as Die Roten’s youngest goalscorer in the Bundesliga.

Since then, Musiala started getting more opportunities to appear in the Munich first team. His actions were monitored by the German national team coach, Joachim Low.

Low plans to call Musiala in preparation for the 2020 European Cup. The German Football Federation (DFB) then approached the player.

Ironically, Musiala refused the offer. He confirmed his intention to continue strengthening the England national team.

This decision is an understandable thing considering Musiala has become a mainstay of the England national team at various age groups. The DFB understands the choices made by the Stuttgart-born player.

“He (Musiala) has clearly signaled to us that he sees a future with the England national team. We accept his decision,” DFB academy head coach, Meikel Schonweitz told Sport 1.

Schonweitz is unsure what kind of lobbying Low did to change Musiala’s decision. What is clear is this news was greeted enthusiastically by the DFB.

Musiala is impressed with Low

Musiala then opened up regarding his reasons for being willing to strengthen the German national team. He admitted that thanks to Low’s persuasion.

“I had a great and honest discussion with Joachim Low. He showed me a clear route to the national team,” said Musiala.

“He also sees my future in my strongest position as an attacking midfielder and appreciates my qualities there.”
