DBasia.news – Liverpool legend 1981-1994, Steve Nichol, advised Liverpool to bring in Leicester City player James Maddison.
Midfielder attacking Leicester City could be Liverpool’s solution in seeking creativity to play in the midfield – something that has been missing since Philippe Coutinho left in January 2018.
“Three Klopp midfielders recently at Liverpool, especially over the past few years, are more detailed about winning possession, pressing opponents, working very hard and then giving the ball to three players up front,” Nichol said on Goal.
“I want to see it change a little with someone like Maddison, who is not questioned (the quality) because he has shown it in the Premier League, from the midfield, he can open defense and create opportunities,” he explained.
According to Nichol, creative midfielders like Maddison are better than recruiting West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, who has a typical playing like current Liverpool midfield midfielders.
“Declan Rice will be ideal before they bring Fabinho. I only see Declan Rice as Fabinho. I want to see a little change by recruiting players like Maddison in the midfield, I prefer to buy Maddison rather than Rice,” concluded the winner of four First Division titles (Premier League).
