DBasia.news – Former Rome and Milan midfielder, Jeremy Menez (33 years old), admitted to being thrilled after officially joining the Italian Serie B promotion club, Reggina.

Menez decided to return to Italy after a season in the Ligue 2 club, Paris FC.

The owner of 24 caps in the French national team was brought in by Reggina on a free transfer and was contracted with a duration of three years.

“I am here to win the Serie B title and bring Reggina to Serie A,” Menez said in his introductory press conference session on Saturday (6/27).

“I have lost my passion for football for the past two, three years. I was in a bad condition. We all like football, but there is also a social connection behind it all. “

“I have spoken many times to President [Luca] Gallo and director of sport [Massimo] Taibi. I received a positive response from them. I felt love and optimism here, it’s very important to me now.

“People talk about me without knowing beforehand, then change their minds after getting to know me well. I am just an ordinary person, “he added.

Menez began his career at Souchaux in 2004 before joining Monaco. To Italy, he defended Rome in the 2008-2011period and Milan in the 2014-2016 period. Prior to Reggina, he played at Bordeaux, the Turkish League and the Mexican League.

This season, Reggina successfully sealed promotional tickets to Serie B after struggling in Serie C since the 2016/17 season. In fact, they had been demoted to Serie D in the 2014/15 season after being declared bankrupt.

Reggina – who now added the year 1914 to the name of the club – is no stranger to connoisseurs of Italian football.

The club that is known for its maroon colored jerseys has been strengthened by famous names, namely: Mohammed Kallon, Andrea Pirlo, and Shunsuke Nakamura.
