Joel Matip rejoined Liverpool

DBasia.news –  After suffering an injury since last month, Liverpool defender Joel Matip has been able to train again. Quoted from Reuters, goalkeeper Alisson Becker is ready to return after experiencing problems in his calf.

The Cameroon defender suffered an injury when Liverpool won 1-0 over Sheffield United on September 28 and missed the 4-3 Champions League win against Salzburg and won 2-1 in a league match against Leicester City this month.

The 28-year-old, who has so far started as a starter in six matches, was likely placed in a duet with Virgil van Dijk when they travel to Manchester United on Sunday this week.

Matip was replaced by Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren in the last two matches.

Alisson had trained with other Liverpool goalkeepers Tuesday and is expected to play his first match since the injury in the league opener against Norwich City last August.

Liverpool won all of their first eight league matches leaving the defending champions Manchester City by eight points in the standings.

Instead Manchester United fell to 12th with just packing nine points or two points above the relegation zone after passing through the worst league start in 30 years.
