John Terry praises Harry Maguire’s performance in the England National Team

DBasia.news – Chelsea legend John Terry praised Harry Maguire’s performance with the England national team. The Manchester United player has become the most fertile defender in The Three Lions.

Maguire contributed one goal when England defeated San Marino 10-0 in the 2022 World Cup qualification for the European zone, Tuesday (16/11/2021). He scored in the sixth minute with a header, capitalizing on Phil Foden’s corner kick.

This is Maguire’s seventh goal for the England national team in his career. Four of his seven goals were scored during the qualifying phase of the 2022 World Cup.

Harry Maguire’s seven goals brought him into the England national team record book. The 28-year-old player became the defender with the most goals scored at the national team level in the history of the Three Lions.

Maguire scored more goals than Jack Charlton and John Terry. Both scored five goals each for the England national team.

Maguire’s achievement was appreciated by Terry on social media. The former England captain congratulated Maguire for surpassing his goalscoring record with the national team.

On the same occasion, Terry mentioned people who had previously criticized Harry Maguire’s performance with Manchester United. One of Maguire’s critics is Red Devils legend Roy Keane.

“Congratulations mate. The top goalscoring defender in England. Let’s see if some of the pundits talk about this,” John Terry told Harry Maguire.
