DBasia.news – When Liverpool returned to action in the English Premier League against Everton, Monday (6/22), Jordan Henderson tried his best from swearing in the field.
With no spectators allowed to enter the stadium due to the corona virus pandemic, any words spoken by players when competing will be heard more clearly on television.
Ahead of the long-awaited Merseyside Derbi, Henderson was fully aware that he had to be able to keep his words on the pitch for the convenience of supporters who watched from home.
“For the players it will be different to play in a big game at the stadium, where there will not be a large crowd because you can hear everyone talking,” he stated to Liverpool FC Magazine.
“I’m more worried about my words when playing! I don’t want to have to apologize to everyone after every game, so I have to be careful, especially in the heat of the match.”
“I’m sure the manager must also be careful with what he says! But he also knows we can’t blame people for not being able to hear what he says at certain times in the game.”
Jurgen Klopp’s team are now 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League standings and can seal the championship title if they are able to win the next two matches when the competition continues.
Despite highlighting the atmosphere of the match which would be different without an audience, Henderson also hopes Liverpool can adapt quickly and secure more trophies.
“When you were little and you used to play for your school, there were no crowds at the time, so you just enjoyed football and appreciated that we could do what we like,” he continued.
“We have to get used to it and maximize the best of this situation as much as possible. The intensity of the match can still be high. If you have the right mindset, the intensity can be as high as you want. About that, when we come back, I hope the intensity is high and football is fun to watch. “
“If we do our job right and we cross the line and win the league, it will be great.”
“I’m sure Liverpool fans really need us to return to action and we as players can’t wait for that and get the job done as possible.”
“Even though it is strange not to be watched by supporters, winning the Premier League is still something we all dream of very much. It doesn’t lessen anything.”
