Jordi Alba claims to have great memories at Estadio De La Cartuja

DBasia.news – Spain’s senior defender, Jordi Alba, gave his comments ahead of matchday 1 of Euro 2020 Group E against Sweden. Alba claimed to have sweet memories when competing at the Estadio de La Cartuja.

The Spanish national team will play their first match against Sweden at the Estadio de La Cartuja, on Tuesday (15/6) am, WIB.

For Alba, the Estadio de La Cartuja is not a strange place. Just a few months ago, he led Barcelona to the 2020-2021 Copa del Rey title. Barca toppled Athletic Bilbao four goals without reply in the top match.

“This stadium is amazing. We won the Copa del Rey with Barcelona here only two months ago,” explained Jordi Alba.

“However, there is no guarantee of repetition. I treat Euro 2020 as a completely different competition with different opponents. However, the intention will be the same which is to win the first game in a competition that gives you great joy and ambition.”

Jordi Alba also welcomed the regulations that allow supporters to come to the stadium. Although not full, it is believed that the presence of supporters will pump up the fighting spirit of La Furia Roja players.

“In all the stadiums we visited, the Spanish fans were really supportive. We have thousands of supporters and I think it will be very important that people can come to the game to support. We will make them proud with the way they play. We will give everything to win,” added Alba.

This is the fourth meeting between Spain and Sweden in a major competition. In the previous three matches, Spain won twice and lost once.
