DBasia.news – Jordi Alba admitted that he felt surprised the new Spain coach, Luis Enrique didn’t call him. Apparently, La Furia Roja are preparing for the match against England and Croatia.
Alba didn’t have a clue of why Enrique didn’t take a glance on him. In fact, the 29-year-old player is still the key player in Barcelona. He scored one goal when Barcelona knocked down Huesca with the 8-2 score last weekend.
Alba is also the regular player in Spain national team within the previous six years. “It surprised me not to be called and I would have like to do. Everyone knows it a decision by the manager, ” Alba told Marca.
“I would like to play for the national team but it’s the coach’s decision and I have to respect it. I don’t know why I didn’t get called up,” said the player who started his career in Valencia.
However, Jordi Alba emphasized that he is okay with Enrique’s decision. He is motivated to consistently showing positive performance to attract the coach.
He also believed the player called by Enrique to fill his position must be a great player. “At this moment, both Marcos Alonso and Jose Luis Gaya will represent the national team and they are two great players,” Jordi Alba said.
