Jorginho has no objection if the executor of the penalty is awarded to Timo Werner

DBasia.news – Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard praised Jorginho’s mature attitude who was no longer appointed as the main executor of his team’s penalty. The Italian player turned out to be able to accept it maturely.

Lampard officially replaced his team’s penalty taker from Jorginho to Timo Werner. The match against Rennes in the continued 2020-2021 Champions League, Thursday (5/11) am, marked that moment.

Jorginho has actually taken on that responsibility since arriving at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2018. He has proven himself to be one of the best penalty takers in the Premier League.

However, two failures from the last four matches has made Lampard evaluate Jorginho’s status. He then took the decision to replace him with Werner.

Interestingly, Jorginho’s response to the decision surprised Lampard. He also did not hesitate to praise his player.

“It’s not an easy decision, Jorginho is perfect for us. I had a conversation with Jorginho and the answer was perfect for a professional, because he doesn’t care who takes it, he just wants to (we score),” Lampard told BT Sport.

“Timo came and scored one goal (penalty) in our last game. Timo is our penalty taker at the moment and he took it firmly, so I’m happy.”

Werner took that responsibility perfectly. Received two penalties against Rennes, both of which were converted into goals.

The German forward also praised Jorginho’s attitude. He considered this condition to show the conduciveness of the Chelsea locker room.

“When you want to score 20 goals or more, you have to take a few penalties this season. This is another point that speaks for our team that we are not selfish,” he concluded.
