Jose Mourinho Contacts Iker Casillas After Suffering from a Heart Attack

Iker Casillas

DBasia.news –  The Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, does not care about his bad past with Iker Casillas. Mourinho immediately contacted him after Casillas had a heart attack.

As is known, Casillas suffered a heart attack when training with Porto, Wednesday (1/5), and he was immediately taken to the hospital. After getting intense treatment, his condition improved and was in a more stable condition.

“Everything is under control here. There was a big concern, but I was in full strength. Thank you very much for everything, for the message of support and love,” Casillas said some time ago on social media.

Porto’s team doctor stated that they would evaluate the condition of the 37-year-old goalkeeper in the next few months. They will see whether Casillas can continue his career as a professional footballer or not.

Mourinho, someone who once disagreed with Casillas when coaching Madrid, also gave support to the Spanish goalkeeper. Mourinho did not seem awkward to contact him even though the relationship between the two did not get along in the past.

“I was very sad to hear (Casillas had a heart attack) and I immediately contacted Porto. The Porto medical team is fantastic, one of the best who ever worked with me. He (Casillas) is in the right hands,” Mourinho said at Marca.

Mourinho also further explained the moment when the second dispute began in the 2012-13 season. Mourinho insisted at that time he had to reserve Casillas and chose Diego Lopez as El Real’s number one goalkeeper.

“Everyone knew there was a certain moment when I decided to reserve him and there were a few disputes. It was a dispute between the Real Madrid captain and the manager,” Mourinho said.

“It’s not easy for me to make that decision and it’s not easy for him to accept that decision. But, we have a positive relationship, unlike what people think,” concluded the 56-year-old coach.
