DBasia.news – Jose Mourinho has noble intentions for AS Roma: wanting to stay in the long term, as Sir Alex Ferguson did for Manchester United.
Mourinho has successfully led the Giallorossi to the brink of winning the Europa Conference League in his first season as the club has progressed to the final and will face Feyenoord.
The Portuguese tactician feels at home dealing with a club like Roma. He hopes that his contract will continue to be extended when it expires.
“Ferguson stayed there [Man United] more than 20 years,” Mourinho said when asked if he could be Roma’s Ferguson.
“I should have stayed here until 79 years. Maybe, I can stay until I turn 70. I understand the question, I’m happy to be here and I think you can see that,” he continued.
“I accepted the three-year project, we’ll see what happens next,” he added.
“I’m not thinking about leaving before my contract expires. However, we’ll see how this project goes,” said the coach who once triumphed with Inter Milan by winning the treble winners.
“Sometimes, according to what is imagined, but it can also be different,” continued the Portuguese tactician.
“The present is the only thing that is most important in football. I have ambitions to stay here. That is the best way to answer that question,” concluded Mourinho.
