Jose Mourinho Was Advised by Sir Alex Ferguson to Bring Dele Alli to Manchester United

DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho said Sir Alex Ferguson had given advice to bring in Dele Alli while he was manager of Manchester United.

During his two and a half years as manager of Man United, player transfer policy became one of Mourinho’s problems. He felt he did not get full support from the club.

“Sir Alex Ferguson has only given me one suggestion in two and a half years at Man United, which is to buy Dele Alli. However, he is not a good player in training and we have to find the right motivation for him,” Mourinho said as quoted by Goal.

Although Dele Alli did not go to Old Trafford, Mourinho managed to bring 11 players to Man United, such as Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, and Romelu Lukaku.

Mourinho was appointed manager of Man United in 2016 and won three trophies. In December 2018 The Special One lost his job after being fired by Man United who then appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as his replacement.

Then Mourinho was appointed as manager of Tottenham to replace Mauricio Pochettino. This made Mourinho inevitably have to train Dele Alli. After meeting him, he was not surprised by Alli’s lazy training attitude.

However, the 24-year-old is believed to be at his best. He took on the role of attacking midfielder and performed quite well in the early months.

During the 2019-2020 season, Alli recorded nine goals and six assists from a total of 38 appearances in all competitions with The Lilywhites.
