Jose Mourinho’s feud with Lazio President

DBasia.news – The drama occurred at the Derby della Capitale between Lazio against AS Roma in the 2022-2023 Serie A continuation. Apart from three red cards, there was a feud between Jose Mourinho and Claudio Lotito.

In the match that took place at the Stadio Olimpico, Monday (20/3) Lazio managed to beat Roma with a score of 1-0. The only winning goal for the Biancocelesti was scored by Mattia Zaccagni in the 64th minute.

Lazio did appear dominant throughout the game. This was inseparable from Roger Ibanez’s red card and made Roma play with ten players from the 32nd minute.

The incident was presented before the game ended. Referee Davide Massa gave a red card to Bryan Cristante and Adam Marusic for feuding.

But the drama didn’t stop there. After the match, Mourinho, who was serving a suspended match, was reportedly involved in an argument with Lazio president, Claudio Lotito.

According to reports by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the moment occurred in front of the locker room. The players of the two teams apparently continued their feud after the game.

The incident started when Alessio Romagnoli celebrated in front of Rome’s locker room. This action sparked Gianluca Mancini’s emotions which resulted in the two almost be involved in a fist fight.

Lotito then came and separated the two. Shortly thereafter, Mourinho appeared who originally intended to enter the Rome locker room.

From the same report, Lotito was surprised by the presence of Mourinho. He felt that the Portuguese national coach could not accompany his team to compete as he was still being sanctioned.

“What do you see?” said Mourinho to Lotito who kept looking at him.

“I am the President of Lazio and This is my home. You shouldn’t even be here.”

The feud between the two was then ended by the Roma director, Tiago Pinto. The worse was avoided.

Mourinho has reportedly been allowed by the FIGC Commissioner to enter the locker room after the game. Previously, he had to sit and watch the match from the stands.
