DBasia.news – Juan Mata scored one goal in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. Mata considered the goal came thanks to a good pass from Donny van de Beek.
Man United faced Brighton at Falmer Stadium, Thursday (1/10/2020) am, WIB, in the top 16 of the Premier League Cup. The Red Devils opened the scoring ahead of halftime through Scott McTominay.
The second half was easy for Man United. Two goals were scored, each one through Juan Mata and Paul Pogba. Mata’s only goal occured in an open play scheme.
Donny van de Beek, who received the pass, with his back towards Mata, immediately continued the ball using his foot. The Spanish player successfully converted it into goals.
“A very smart pass from Donny. He’s a clever player. He finds a lot of space and understands football in the way I like,” Mata said as quoted by the BBC.
Mata doesn’t just contribute goals. He also provides the assist for Manchester United’s opener with a free kick.
“I tried to direct the ball into the area, where two or three possible players to head the ball. It was a great header from Scotty and important to score in the first half,” the former Valencia player revealed.
The Premier League Cup is usually an event that the big English teams dislikes. However, Mata indicated that MU wants to win the trophy in this championship.
“This means a trophy. We want to lift a trophy for our fans. We want to do it again. We try to win every game. The initial stage of this year is different,” Mata emphasized.
