Juergen Klopp Named by Premier League Best Manager

DBasia.news – Juergen Klopp won the best manager of the English League Manager Association. Sir Alex Ferguson also congratulated the Liverpool manager.

The award for Klopp was announced by the League Managers Association (LMA) on Tuesday (7/28/2020). The German manager was chosen because of his success in bringing Liverpool won their first English League trophy in the last 30 years this season.

Klopp beat the names of other managers like Marcelo Bielsa in the Leeds United team and Gareth Ainsworth who handled Wycombe. As a result, the 53-year-old man is entitled to the trophy of The Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy.

Klopp’s announcement as the winner of the best manager title was delivered directly by Ferguson via video broadcast. The former Manchester United boss said Klopp deserved the title of best manager in England for his performance to bring Liverpool to appear trivial since the start of the season, until eventually becoming a Premier League champion.

“Juergen, fantastic. We are talking about Leeds who spent 16 years in the Championship, but Liverpool have been 30 years since the league championship was last, it was incredible,” said Ferguson as quoted by Sky Sports.

“You certainly deserve it, your team’s level of performance is extraordinary. Your personality matches the whole club, this is an amazing performance,” he continued.

“I forgive you for waking me up at 3:30 in the morning just to let me know if you won the league! Thank you, however you deserve it,” said Ferguson.

Klopp also commented on his election as the best manager of the LMA version. The former Borussia Dortmund boss admitted he was very honored to be chosen by managers in the UK to win the award.

“I am very happy to be chosen as the winner of the best manager of the League Manager Association and happy to get the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy, a trophy named from someone I admire,” Klopp said.
