DBasia.news – The success of winning the Champions League trophy in the 2019/20 season did not make Jurgen Klopp’s team satisfied. The Reds actually increasingly wanted to win the entire competition they’re in.
This was revealed by a Liverpool player, Dejan Lovren. He called all players as addicted to win trophies each season.
“We didn’t stop working, that’s the main point, we are still hungry for the title. That attitude brought us to this point,” Lovren said on the club’s official website.
“Once you taste a delicious meal, you definitely want to try it again. You don’t want to stop.”
Lovren certainly does not talk nonsense. Liverpool’s appearance was very extraordinary this season.
Despite failing to defend the Champions League title, Liverpool appeared almost flawless in the Premier League. They should have even ended the wait for 30 years if the competition had not been postponed due to the corona virus.
Liverpool now lead the standings by 25 points from second-placed Manchester City. The Reds also only twice failed to reap three points.
Lovren said the hunger possessed by the Liverpool squad didn’t just happen. He mentioned Klopp’s important role in this regard.
“Everything is a learning process that starts from the manager. He did an extraordinary job from the beginning,” he added.
“He shows everyone that he has the ability and skill. He also understands managing teams both in bad and good moments.”
Liverpool’s brilliant performance did not just happen. Klopp has been pioneering since he first arrived at Anfield in October 2015.
