DBasia.news – Liverpool had to start the Premier League season 2022-2023 unsatisfactorily after a 2-2 draw with Fulham.
The match left Reds manager Jurgen Klopp frustrated and admitted that his team’s play was not what he expected.
“You really want to know on a scale of 1 to 10 [how frustrating it is]? 12! Really. First of all, I’ve said it a few times, I feel much more responsible for losing than winning, and unfortunately that’s just my nature, Klopp said as quoted from the club’s official website.
“Our performance was our defeat, the result was not a defeat but a losing performance and that’s why we have to find out what happened. It can happen.”
Klopp also admitted, although Fulham are a promoted team, they were able to make things challenging for the Reds during the match. However, the German tactician still urged his team to learn from the match and continue to work to correct any mistakes.
“And again, if we win today and don’t learn anything from the game, it will be much worse than getting points and having to learn something, I agree with that.”
“So that’s what we’re going to work on now. It wasn’t us today, not us normally. I don’t want to take anything away from Fulham, they did well but honestly, we were in front of goal and should have scored, so that’s also the truth.”
“We played a poor game and only got one point, so that’s all true too. However, playing the way we played is not how we should play and that’s why my frustration about this is so high.”
