Jurgen Klopp gave his defense on Thiago Alcantara’s Criticism

DBasia.news – Jurgen Klopp commented on the criticism that was directed at Thiago Alcantara. Klopp thinks that comments about Thiago’s poor performance are nonsense.

Thiago performed brilliantly in midfield when the Reds won 2-0 in the second leg of the Champions League top 16 against RB Leipzig.

Fabinho’s return to midfield has allowed the Spanish midfielder to operate more freely.

Many argued that the former Bayern Munich player’s style of play did not match Liverpool’s, but the Reds were quick to deny that opinion.

When asked about Thiago by a German reporter after the match in Budapest, Klopp responded: “I assume when you all look at Liverpool from Germany, people say our problem has something to do with Thiago or whatever, it’s nonsense.”

“Thiago is good, everything is good. For new players, they always need time to get used to our game plan, but Thiago does not have enough time,” Klopp said as quoted by Goal.

“Still, it’s growing week by week. Our project is not short term, but long term and that’s good.”

“It’s very flexible how we work together. The players played some good passes and Thiago had a great chance too. I think he could have shot it to the goal but passed instead.”

It is currently impossible for Liverpool to defend their English Premier League title, they are currently in eighth position with 25 points adrift of leaders, Manchester City.

However, thanks to a 4-0 aggregate victory over Leipzig, Liverpool successfully advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals this season.
