Jurgen Klopp opens up regarding Liverpool’s need on a new midfielder

DBasia.news – The 2022-2023 Premier League season has just started, Liverpool has been faced with a problem regarding the midfield player, Thiago Alcantara who suffered an injury. The Spaniard was injured during the game against Fullham at Craven Cottage.

The injury reduced the number of players in Liverpool’s midfield. The remaining options now in that position are players like Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The situation, given the long season and tight competition, is expected by fans to be resolved if Liverpool recruit a new midfielder as so far Liverpool have only recruited three players: Fabio Carvalho, Darwin Nunez, and Calvin Ramsay, not in the central midfield position.

But Jurgen Klopp insists that his squad is already qualified at this time. According to him, Liverpool will continue to purchase players if the situation allows, otherwise it will not be a problem.

“If the right players are available and the opportunity is there, we will. We’ve had a lot of conversations and it doesn’t look like anything will happen,” Klopp said as quoted by Dailymail.

“I am happy with the strength and quality of my squad. But we have injuries and now the question is how long they will be out for.”

“There are different solutions to that, one of which is the transfer market. The transfer market only makes sense if you can bring in the right players.”

“All other solutions are in the squad and we now have too many injuries. Naby will be back on Monday and Kostas (Tsimikas) will train for the first time today. That is the situation.”

“I understand the question but I also don’t understand it (regarding purchasing players to be an option). Because if there was a right solution we would have done it, we are not stubborn,” stated Klopp.
