Juventus Bend Atalanta, Here Are Maurizio Sarri’s Comments

DBasia.news –  Maurizio Sarri assesses that Juventus are lucky to conquer Atalanta in the continuation of the Serie A match.

Juventus won 3-1 over Atalanta in the Italian Serie A League continued on Saturday (11/23/2019). In that match, the Bianconeri fell behind before Gonzalo Higuain (two goals) and Paulo Dybala turned things around.

“It was an entertaining game with tempo and intensity, a type you don’t normally see in Serie A,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.

“We lost our minds after they missed the penalty, thought of everything except football matches and allowed Atalanta to take full control. They deserve to excel first. We were lucky to score the equalizer and from there showed confidence that we could win it.”

“I moved Dybala to the wing to stop Atalanta on the wing so we could control the game again. The system consumes a lot of energy in midfield. We fought with Atalanta because we didn’t cover the ball enough in midfield.”

“Atalanta’s wings are constantly advancing, while our wings are sometimes caught between them. I think everyone will have a hard time in Bergamo and Pep Guardiola is right to say that facing Atalanta is like going to the dentist – even if you feel relieved, it still hurts,” Sarri added.

With that victory, Juventus remain at the top of Serie A. The Bianconeri are one point ahead of Inter Milan who is below it.
