Juventus cancel test match against Atletico Madrid

DBasia.news – Juventus and Atletico Madrid decided not to play the test match in Tel Aviv, Israel. With this match switched to Juve’s training center instead.

The two European giants released a joint statement the day before the cancellation, explaining that the agenda for holding pre-season games at Bloomfield Stadium could not continue.

Their full statement read: “Due to the current security situation [in Israel], Comtec Group [match promoter], Juventus and Atletico Madrid announce that the friendly match between the two teams will take place in Israel this Sunday, August 7 at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, has been cancelled.”

It was later confirmed that the two teams would still be testing each other but in a closed match which was held at Juve’s Continassa pitch in Turin, Italy.

The friendly match will end Juventus and Atletico’s 2022/23 pre-season preparations ahead of the start of next weekend’s Serie A and La Liga campaigns.

Massimiliano Allegri’s team will start their campaign at home to Sassuolo on Monday, August 15 while Diego Simeone’s team will travel to Getafe on the same day.
