Juventus Ensures that Matthijs de Ligt will absent for three months for shoulder surgery

DBasia.news – Juventus announced that their center back, Matthijs de Ligt had undergone shoulder surgery. The Dutch player will be out for three months.

The new Serie A season is scheduled for September 19, 2020. This means de Ligt will be out for the first two months of the domestic league.

“This morning, Matthijs de Ligt underwent stabilization surgery on his right shoulder, at the UPMC Salvador Mundi clinic in Rome,” Juve said on the club’s official website, Thursday (13/8).

“The operation, which was performed by Doctor Volker Mushal, assisted by doctors, Bryson Lesniak and Fabrizio Margheritini, and attended by the Head of Juventus Medical Department, Luca Stefanini, was a success. Recovery time is estimated to last three months.”

The 21-year-old player has made 39 appearances in his debut season with the Bianconeri. He only appeared as a substitute player three times.

There are high hopes placed on De Ligt’s shoulders after he rejected offers from a number of big European clubs to accept the proposal for Juve, who purchased him for 75 million euros from Ajax Amsterdam in July 2019.

On several occasions De Ligt has received a lot of criticism at the Turin club. But over time, especially after scoring the winning goal against Torino, he was able to play more freely and comfortably.
