Juventus Experienced Bad Start to the Season, Andrea Pirlo Was Overshadowed by Dismissal

DBasia.news – The home defeat at home to Barcelona in the Champions League made Juventus stifled.  The defeat made the manager, Andrea Pirlo, under the shadow of dismissal.

Reported by Football-Italy, Andrea Pirlo is currently registering the worst start to the season since Andrea Agnelli took over the club in 2010. Since being appointed as coach to replace Maurizio Sarri, Pirlo has only been able to bring Juventus to win twice in the initial six games, three draws and one defeat.  In the same period, Juventus scored nine goals and conceded four.

For the record, it is one of two wins when they were set to win 3-0 after Napoli decided not to come to the match due to travel restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.

When compared to his predecessors, Pirlo is the worst.  Even Sarri, who he replaced, was able to win four victories in the same period.

No wonder there is news that Juventus is currently considering finding a new architect.  The Italian media reported that Pirlo’s position is currently safe, because he still has support from Andrea Agnelli.

However, the defeat to Barcelona at home is starting to cause unease.  Agnelli is reportedly starting to see the situation is not improving.  If bad results keep coming, it is not impossible that Juventus will find a new coach.

Then who is the figure most likely on Pirlo’s replacement list?  Italian media reports Juventus want Massimiliano Allegri to return if Pirlo is sacked.

Allegri, 53, is currently unemployed since leaving Juventus in 2019. In the five years in the Allegri era, Juventus has won eleven trophies and appeared in two Champions League finals.
