DBasia.news – Juventus’ bad period still continues. Massimiliano Allegri’s side have now even recorded their worst defensive record in 60 years.
Juventus lost again in the 2021-2022 Serie A continuation. The Bianconeri lost 1-2 when they traveled to Verona at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, Saturday (30/10).
It was the second defeat suffered by Juventus in a row. Paulo Dybala and his team mates also lost with an identical score when they hosted Sassuolo, last midweek.
Overall, Juventus have lost four of the eleven 2021-2022 Serie A matches. This has made the Old Lady even more scattered from the title race by occupying the eighth rank.
Juventus’ poor performance could not be separated from the fragility of the defense line. The Turin club have conceded 15 goals.
This amount is the most experienced by Juventus in the first eleven matches since Serie A 1961-1962. That season, they finished 12th.
This is certainly a danger alarm for Allegri and his troops. If they don’t get up soon, it’s possible for Juventus to repeat this bad record.
Allegri himself is aware of the problems in his team’s defense. He specifically highlighted the mentality of the Juventus players.
“This is a good squad, but things don’t always go your way in football. We have to react with pride and determination,” Allegri told DAZN.
“Wearing the Juventus jersey doesn’t give us any guarantee that we have to beat the team in the middle of the table. We have to get every point and do it with the right attitude.”
“You have to fight on the pitch at the same level. We also lost a lot of tackles and aerial duels against Sassuolo, and to be honest they are not a very physical team,” he added.
This statement is enough to describe Allegri’s frustration. It’s understandable that he feels that way because Juventus have a row of tough defenders in Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci to Matthijs de Ligt.
Indirectly, Allegri mentioned the performance of Juventus’ defense. But he certainly hopes this will be used as motivation to rise.
“No big team has ever won without respect for their opponents. We have no desire to fight it out, because the game is a battle,” continued Allegri.
“There’s nothing we can say right now, we just need to be quiet and work hard to prove ourselves on the pitch.”
