DBasia.news – A jersey is a sign of history and the close relationship of the English club, Notts County with Juventus, which has lasted 116 years. Juventus are indebted to Notts County.
It all began in 1903. Juventus asked the player, John Savage, to look for a new as the club’s color at that time, pink, often faded when being washed.
Savage, who originated from England, asked for opinions from friends in his hometown and was advised to use black and white, colors that were identical to Notts County. Juve seniors liked it and continued to use that motif for years (before being changed during the 2019-20 season).
Since then Juve is indebted to Notts County. Although there is no written law or agreement that Juve was indebted, the Old Lady knows they are always there when Notts is needed. The chance to return the favor was present this summer.
Notts County is in a state of financial crisis. Part of the British Parliament, Lilian Greenwood, reported by the Nottingham Post has asked Juventus to repay their debt. Of course, Juve responded well.
Juventus are ready to help Notts County finance their jersey production for the 2019-20 season. However, unfortunately, their good intentions fail because of sponsors. Juventus’ sponsor Adidas, while Notts has collaborated with Puma.
“Considering a long, endless relationship between the two clubs, Juventus are happy to assist in providing a new jersey next season,” said Juventus’ Head of Communication, Claudio Albanese, as reported by Football-Italy.
“We spoke with the Technical Sponsor, Adidas, to inform them of the situation and they quickly contacted Notts County to arrange the storage of goods.”
“Unfortunately, while it is being held, Notts had a two-year bond agreement with Puma and they cannot wear other brands. Thank you for the letter. We wish Notts County the best for the future,” Albanese concluded.
