By db-admin

DBasia.news –  According to news from Calciomercato, Juventus had a chance to recruit Joao Felix when he was still playing at Benfica.

Joao Felix was predicted as a successor to Cristiano Ronaldo. In addition to being both from Portugal, Joao Felix is considered to have a similar playstyle to the CR7 scene.

Appearing with Benfica, Joao Felix scored 20 goals in 43 matches. Not surprisingly, the 19-year-old has received many offers from various European clubs.

Juventus, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Manchester City are the lines of the club associated with Joao Felix. In the end, the player headed for Los Rojiblancos with a dowry of 126 million euros in the transfer market last summer.

Before the agreement with Atletico was reached, Jorge Mendes as agent and president of Benfica, Luis Felipe, prioritized Juventus in the transfer of Joao Felix. It was inseparable from the good relations that existed between Mendes and the Bianconeri.

Felipe and Mendes first headed to Italy to meet Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici. However, Juventus decided not to bring Joao Felix.

One of the biggest factors behind the decision is cost. Juventus do not have enough money because previously it has disbursed 100 million euros to bring in Cristiano Ronaldo.

Besides, Juve’s main focus is to strengthen the rear sector. Not surprisingly, then Juventus chose Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax Amsterdam.

Joao Felix won full trust from Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid. Currently, he has packed one goal plus one assist in four LaLiga matches.
