Juventus Lost to Lazio, Sarri Highlights Juan Cuadrado’s Red Card
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Maurizio Sarri has protested to the red card received by Juan Cuadrado. As a result, Juventus lost 1-3 to Lazio in the Serie A match.
Juventus took the lead through Cristiano Ronaldo’s kick in the 25th minute. The superstar completed Paulo Dybala’s accurate pass. However, towards the end of the first half, Luiz Felipe equalized through his header.
Disaster for Juventus occurred in the 69th minute. Juan Cuadrado received a red card after tackling a Lazio player who had been running without escort in the Juventus defense.
At first, the referee gave a yellow card for the incident. However, after using VAR, the decision turned into a red card.
Playing with 10 players has bewildered Juventus. In the end Lazio added two goals through Sergej Milinkkovic-Savic (74 ‘) and Felipe Caicedo (90 + 5’).
“We played well in the first half. However, we allowed a goal towards the end when it was important to keep going,” explained Maurizio Sarri as reported by DAZN.
“Then, the results were determined if the situation is not favorable for us after losing the players. We are different in the number of players,” continued Sarri.
“I disagree with Cuadrado’s red card. I think the yellow card is the fairest and that was the referee’s decision at first. However, we can only think of what we control and in that case it was a mistake.”
Juventus remains in second place with 36 points. La Vecchia Signora are two points adrift of Inter Milan who are at the top of the standings.
