Club chairman, Andrea Agnelli, explained that Juventus are currently looking for funds of around 300 million euros. The funds are expected to pass through the increase in the value of their shares. With these funds Juventus hopes to continue to be competitive.
This plan itself is a continuation of the previous one. The plan that made them successful in bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo and other top players like Matthijs de Ligt.
Now through the latest plan, Juventus has ambitions to bring in a player who will become Ronaldo’s successor.
“Ronaldo is the end point of the plan that began eight years ago when Mirko Vucinic became the first purchase,” said Paolo Aicardi, president of Juventus shareholders at the annual meeting as reported by Goal.
“From Vucinic to Ronaldo there are various steps, from Carlos Tevez, Sami Khedira. This recruitment proves that Juventus can bring big names in football.”
“When Ronaldo, target number one, came, it was clear that Juventus were the first choice of the star player in front of Real Madrid, Manchester United or Barcelona,” continued Aicardi.
“At the moment everything is possible. The arrival of Matthijs De Ligt is proof. We plan to bring in a new Cristiano Ronaldo, the young version.”
