Kessie Joins Barcelona

DBasia.news – Barcelona have officially announced the arrival of Ivory Coast midfielder, Franck Kessie.

Kessie was brought in on a free transfer after the player’s contract ran out with AC Milan.

Barca signed the 25-year-old midfielder until June 2027 with an accompanying release clause of 500 million euros!

Kessie is considered to be one of the pillars of Milan’s success in winning the 2021/22 Scudetto season. He also helped seal the Rossoneri’s crucial victory in the last giornata against Sassuolo.

Barca became Kessie’s first club outside of Italy after he moved from Ivory Coast. Previously, he had defended Atalanta in the 2015–2019 period and was briefly loaned to Cesena, until finally playing for Milan in the 2019–2022 range.

As for Kessie, Barcelona president, Joan Laporta said the club would announce a second new player who was also brought in for free, namely defender Andreas Christensen from Chelsea.

Despite the arrival of Kessie and Christensen, Barca are still confused about the transfers of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich and Raphinha from Leeds United due to complicated financial problems. Although, the last two names have been desperate to leave for Catalonia.
