Kevin Prince Boateng Officially Joins Serie B Club

DBasia.news – Kevin-Prince Boateng has officially joined Silvio Berlusconi’s second caste club, Monza, who is currently competing in Serie B.

The two figures worked together at AC Milan several years ago, when Boateng was a player at the club and Berlusconi was the president of the Rossoneri.

In a statement on his official website, Monza said the 33-year-old player from Ghana was signed from Fiorentina, and has a contract until 30 June 2021. He has an option to extend for a second year, which is based on certain conditions.

Apart from Berlusconi, Boateng will also work with former Milan CEO Adriano Galliani again.

Boateng was in Milan’s uniform from 2010 to 2013, with a record of one Serie A title in his first season. He returned to Milan in January 2016 to play for six months, when he was coached by Cristian Brocchi, who now also directs Monza.

Former Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi bought Monza in September 2018 for around three million euros. In April 2017, he had already sold Milan.

The club from the suburbs of Milan got promotion tickets from Serie C last year. Now they are aiming to be able to compete in the highest strata.

Boateng is Monza’s 11th new recruit to look at the 2020/2021 season. This year Fiorentina loaned him to Turkish club Besiktas, where he played from January to August.
