Kim Swee do not know about the re-draw

DBasia.news – KUALA LUMPUR: The Asian Games football re-election today has raised many questions as the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Indonesian Asia Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) continue to be secretive about the format to be used.
To date, definitive information is a re-draw because it wants to include two teams, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Palestinians who dropped out of the polls in Jakarta, July 5.
The Under-23 coach (B-23), Datuk Ong Kim Swee was not informed in detail about the reversal, whether it involves all 26 teams or just two teams.
“I do not know about the re-draw, nor am I sure whether to attend or not to the polls. We agree with the decision of the host to hold a re-draw if it involves all teams or UAEs with Palestine only, “he told NSTP Sports.
Based on the report www.xinhuanet.com, after the re-draw, Group A, C D and F will have four teams while Group B and E are five teams.
If the refinement is merely UAE and Palestine, it will be a bad news for Malaysia who is currently in Group E with defending champions South Korea, Kyrgyzstan and Bahrain.
If that happens, the addition of the match with the entry of the UAE or Palestine team will give way more for Kim Swee’s men who are aiming to reach the quarter-finals.
It is even more fair to re-draw involving all teams but The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) assigned to perform the event tomorrow also did not get any information about the format.
“So far the AFC is still waiting for a letter about the OCA format,” said AFC Secretary-General Datuk Windsor Paul John when contacted.
Indonesia’s Asian Games soccer match is scheduled to begin on August 14.
