Klopp admits Liverpool is tired physically and mentally after continuing to fall

DBasia.news – Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp said the Reds were exhausted both physically and mentally, as they lost to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League match at Anfield.

Liverpool lost 1-0 when they hosted Brighton in the 2020-2021 Premier League follow-up at Anfield Stadium, Thursday (4/2). Steven Alzate’s only goal in the 56th minute was unable to reply to the host.

These results has made Liverpool continue to be inconsistent. In the previous two matches, Mohamed Salah and his team mates defeated Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

“We have just finished two difficult matches. We have not had mental problems like depression or anything like that. We are just not fresh enough mentally,” Klopp said on Liverpool’s official website.

“Last week was challenging. At the moment, we are not fit enough. That means we are not good enough to dismantle the Brighton game.”

“In the end, they managed to score goals. There were several other opportunities.”

Jurgen Klopp did not want to find reasons for the defeat. He acknowledged that Brighton appeared better.

“We did too, but they were the ones who scored. Therefore, they deserved to win,” said Klopp.

Now, Liverpool’s efforts to defend the Premier League title have become more tortuous. Liverpool are seven points behind Manchester City who are top of the table with one game less.
