Klopp Condemns UEFA’s Decision About the Limits of the Champions League and Nations League Final Schedule

DBasia.news –  Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager, was very upset with UEFA’s decision not to pay attention to the condition of the player with a tight schedule between the Champions League final and the Nations League semifinals.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, two English teams, will clash with each other in the 2018-19 Champions League final which takes place at Wanda Metropolitano, June 2, 2019, at 2:00 a.m.

While the semi-final of the Nations League brought Portugal against Switzerland (6/6) at 1:45 a.m, and the Netherlands against England (7/6) at 01:45 a.m.

Both Liverpool or Tottenham players who are national team players, indirectly only have four-five days to prepare before joining the national team. Not to mention they have to travel and do the exercises again.

Klopp was upset with UEFA and couldn’t understand their decision. Uncharacteristically, Klopp criticized UEFA for a busy schedule which he considered irresponsible and paid attention to the health of the player.

“We have had many empty days on a day that I never imagined as a manager because the intensity (this season) is very high. This season is very intense again and on June 1 we played in the Champions League final and June 6 there was a great tournament called Nations League,” Klopp said at the Dailymail.

“Everyone saw me when I said it was not a good idea and now, whoops, surprised the two English teams in the Champions League final and if there was a Dutch team then the situation didn’t improve, only a problem for other countries.”

“If we don’t learn how to handle players in a better way, taking into account competition, then this is the only chance to kill this beautiful sport because without soccer players it’s not good,” explained the manager from Germany.

Klopp insists on his decision about the Nations League called the most absurd competition. He also did not blame Gareth Southgate, the England national team coach, if, in the end, he had to put up additional plans to anticipate foster children who were called to the national team.

“Certainly not Gareth’s fault, but planned something like this and was surprised by the two top teams at Champions League final and many players are involved in the Nations League, so there is an interesting plan,” Klopp added.

“If we plan like this then we are completely surprised if there is another Premier League match … Thank God there are no more matches,” he continued.

Not only Liverpool and Tottenham will fight in the Champions League final, Arsenal and Chelsea will also clash with each other in Baku, Azerbaijan, for the Europa League final (30/5) at 2:00 a.m.
