Koeman asks fans to be patient, it takes time to restore Barcelona’s performance

DBasia.news – Ronald Koeman has not been able to resurrect Barcelona. However, the coach has asked the fans to be patient as it would take some time for him to restore the glory of the Catalan team.

As previously reported, the Blaugrana are in quite a critical condition after not being able to win in the last two matches. After being defeated by Bayern Munich, the Catalan team were forced to draw against Granada.

Tonight, Barcelona will face Cadiz. Speaking ahead of Friday’s La Liga match against Cadiz, Koeman said the club’s management still has faith in him to lead the team in this transition period and the focus is on young players.

“The club is with me in this transition period. We have to reconstruct the team as a squad without making big investments and this will take time,” the former Verton coach said while reading a statement at a virtual press conference as quoted by Reuters on Wednesday.

“The young talents we have can become world stars in a few years. The young players will have chances, as Xavi and (Andres) Iniesta had in their time, but we ask for your patience.”

“Finishing high in the table is a success in itself and in the Champions League we cannot expect miracles. The defeat against Bayern has to be taken with perspective. The team must be supported, with words and with action.”

Currently, the Catalan team is in eighth place in the Spanish La Liga standings. Gerard Pique and his team mates have collected 8 points from four matches. Therefore, Koeman must bring Barca to avoid dismissal.
