DBasia.news – Chelsea’s young winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has still not been decided to go down in the Champions League match against Ajax. Chelsea manager Frank Lampard also said he did not want to decide too quickly on the composition of the players in the match that will take place in the early morning.
After recovering from an ankle injury, Hudson-Odoi was indeed able to show a pretty good appearance. The 18-year-old has managed to score one goal and four assists in six games with Chelsea this season.
“I think Callum Hudson-Odoi is ready to appear as a starter. But, the same thing also applies to other players. There are many competitive players in the Chelsea squad at the moment,” Frank Lampard was quoted as saying by Football London.
Last weekend, Hudson-Odoi returned to show his best when strengthening Chelsea in the party against Newcastle United. Lampard did not hesitate to give praise to Hudson-Odoi.
“At the party against Newcastle last weekend, Hudson-Odoi managed to show performance following what I asked for. He can send dangerous balls into the opponent’s defense area and is often troublesome to the opponent’s defender,” Lampard said.
“He did not get a guarantee to appear as a starter at the party later. But, the Champions League match is a pretty tough test for all young players and not just Hudson-Odoi in the aspect of concentration for 90 minutes and maximize small moments,” said Lampard.
