Lampard Doesn’t Want to Be Compared with Mourinho

DBasia.news –  Chelsea manager Frank Lampard does not want to be compared with Jose Mourinho’s unique style when the Blues met with Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday’s Premier League match.

Lampard admitted that Mourinho had a big role in his development while he was still playing, but now he wants to go his own way rather than imitate the style of his former manager.

“He is certainly a good manager with many good attributes. However, there isn’t one specific thing I learned from him, and I don’t want to be cloned or anything like that,” Lampard said.

“I am happy to be able to fight Jose, for me who has worked under his direction, he has a big influence on my career,” he added.

Lampard’s first meeting with Mourinho in the Premier League was in the spotlight ahead of the London derby, where the outcome of the match will determine who the capital team has the right to be in the top four at Christmas.

Spurs manager Mourinho played an important role in the emergence of Lampard as a top midfielder, who was one of his mainstays when he was playing at Chelsea.

“I will always respect him. The bigger thing is Chelsea-Tottenham, and that is the meaning of rivalry for the players and ourselves.”
