Laporte’s Jealousy to France Victory in the 2018 World Cup

DBasia.news – Manchester City defender, Aymeric Laporte, admitted the jealousy of not taking a part of the France national team to win the 2018 World Cup. However, Laporte said he had a high-quality holiday.

France is the champion of the 2018 World Cup after defeating Croatia 4-2 in the final round. With this success, Paul Pogba and friends were repeating the same victory in 1998.

In this squad, France coach Didier Deschamps made some surprises by not including the key players like Anthony Martial to Aymeric Laporte who brought Manchester City to get the Premier League title.

“It was jealousy, to be honest. The decisions were made and you just have to accept them. That’s how it is in football,” said Laporte reported by Soccerway.

“It didn’t come as a surprise to me that I wasn’t involved. I hadn’t been in the previous squad that had been named without me. But it was still a little disappointing for me not to be involved,” said Laporte.

“It was still a really good summer, though. I had plenty of relaxing with family and friends. I was really happy to get back home after a tough season,” he continued.

Manchester City got Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao worth 58,5 million euro in the 2018 winter transfer market. Short time, the 24-year-old player got into the main squad. Last season, Laporte played in nine matches of Premier League.
