DBasia.news – Kedah’s import striker, Sandro da Silva is determined to win the Malaysia Cup as their last contribution to the team as well as a gift for the loyal supporters of Lang Merah squad before he lifts his feet at the end of the season.
Sandro joined Kedah since 2015 and helped the team win all domestic competitions except for the Super League, believing they can repeat the ups and downs of the Malaysian Cup in 2016 if all the players are still hungry for success.
“I can feel this is the last season with Kedah. In fact, I’ve heard from the ‘in-person’ (Kedah Football Association) themselves that they will not resume my contract when it ends in late November.
“As a professional player, I accept whatever decision with open arms.
“But, before leaving the team, I want to go with success as a way of giving back to the association and as well as the last present for the supporters who gave undivided support during my time here.
“The FA Cup has been missed and the dream to win the Super League is also buried, which leaves them currently only the Malaysian Cup. I hope we can win it, “said Sandro.
The Brazilian-born striker believes the Lang Merah still has the ability to lift the prestigious trophy if the player wants it.
“It was a difficult season for Kedah this year. From the very beginning, everything did not go smoothly, causing our performance to be inconsistent.
“There are a lot of problems in this team that I can not reveal. However, I can conclude that it contributes to our failure in the league.
“I hope players start a new move to face the Malaysian Cup because we can actually do it if the players are still hungry for success, focus and play together.
“But sorry, if the same attitude shown throughout the league is still being repeated, Kedah can forget the Malaysian Cup this season,” Sandro said.
Kedah, last year’s finalist, are in group C with defending champion, Johor Darul Ta’zim, Kelantan and MIFA.
