DBasia.news – Inter threw away a two-ball lead when they travel to Dortmund, who managed to carve out a comeback by scoring three goals in the second half.
Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez was so disappointed with the 3-2 defeat suffered by his team when they visited Borussia Dortmund headquarters on Wednesday (6/11) early morning Western Indonesian Time.
In the Champions League group stages last night, Inter were able to lead two balls in the first round through Martinez’s goal in the fifth minute and Matias Vecino just before the break.
But Dortmund was able to come back in the second half thanks to Achraf Hakimi’s brace and the remaining one from Julian Brandt to make the German team move up to second in the F standings, one point adrift of the Barcelona leaders who were held to a 0-0 draw by Slavia Prague.
Reflecting on the defeat of his team, Martinez told Sky Sport Italia: “We performed very well in the first round, but we became a different team in the second round. Maybe we showed a lack of maturity, considering we changed dramatically after the break.
“(The match) is not a duel that is physically draining, it is just lacking concentration and intensity (from us) which is reduced, no more. We are 2-0 up, should not lose 3-2. That can’t happen. We must be more mature and developing to play at this level.
“We haven’t lost hope of qualifying, we’ve been left behind since the first match of the group stage, but we can still do it.”
