Lazar Markovic’s Uncertain Status in Liverpool

Lazar Markovic

DBasia.news –  Do you still remember the name, Lazar Markovic? His status is uncertain in Liverpool. Amid Liverpool’s good performance, Markovic is unseen and drowned among other regular players.

Currently, Markovic isn’t listed in Liverpool main squad. The Reds decided to place Markovic on the U23 team who played against Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion.

But, since the beginning of October, Markovic hasn’t seen in the training camp. It raised the speculation that Liverpool have ended his contract that should end in six more weeks.

However, Liverpool Echo reported Markovic’s disappearance was due to the calf muscle injury. The 24-year-old player hopes that he could perform before the January transfer market opens.

“Lazar has been back on the pitch running so hopefully he’s not too far away. We’re hopeful in the next week or two he’ll be training with us,” said Liverpool Under-23 boss Neil Critchley.

Liverpool signed Lazar Markovic from Benfica worth 22,5M during the 2014 summer transfer market. But, since then, he often became the on-loan player for other clubs like Sporting CP, Hull City, RSC Anderlecht, and Fenerbahce.

So far, Markovic played for The Reds for 34 times. From that statistic, the Serbian player scored three goals and one assist.

Seeing the statistic, it seems like Markovic needs to find a new club to continue his career as a football player.
