DBasia.news –  Lazio displaced Juventus from the top of the Italian league standings after beating Bologna 2-0 in the 26th week of the Italian League match which was marked by the help of the VAR for the host at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Saturday (02/29/2020).

Lazio did not take long to open the scoring. Just 18 minutes into the game, Luis Alberto scored the first goal of Lazio after maximizing Ciro Immobile’s pass.

Three minutes later, Lazio successfully doubled the lead. This time, it was Joaquin Correa’s turn to break down Lukasz Skorupski’s goal.

Being left behind two goals, Bologna immediately came out to attack in order to minimize the lag. However, the strength of Lazio’s back line failed to be penetrated by Riccardo Orsolini and colleagues and the first half ended with the score 2-0 for Gli Aquile.

After halftime, Bologna continued to take the initiative to attack. Lazio seemed to have lost their strength and the difficulty to get out of the insistent pressure launched by the visitors.

Bologna finally scored a goal in the 67th minute through a volley kick from Takehiro Tomiyasu who failed to be countered by Thomas Strakosha. However, after consulting with the VAR, the referee canceled Tomiyasu’s goal.

Despite continuing to attack, Bologna failed to score a goal in the remaining time of the match. This victory has also made Lazio successfully shift Juventus from the top of the Italian League standings and now has a one point advantage from the Bianconerri.
